At this moment we are looking for a Business Analyst/Technical Writer.
The Position
The Business Analyst / Technical Writer is typically a project’s key stakeholder. Part of the responsibilities is to have a vision of what he or she wishes to build, not only on the basis of company’s (internal) roadmaps but also from our customer’s requirements, and convey that vision to the development teams in solid and crystal clear documented solutions. This is key to successfully starting and running any Agile development project.
Responsibilities
- Analyzing what needs to be configured or if development is needed
- Developing and adapting the product vision derived from brainstorm with internal stakeholders and customers
- Writing new user stories
- Splitting user stories which are too big
- Specifying acceptance criteria for each user story
- Writing acceptance tests
- Documenting the product and keeping this documentation up-to-date
- Grooming your product backlog (think INVEST and DEEP)
- Support creation and maintenance of Teleena’s roadmaps (product, sales and technical)
STAKEHOLDERS
- Observing, learning about, contacting and analyzing the market, customers, and end-users of the product
- Regularly keeping in touch with every stakeholder of the product
- Report to management and stakeholders
- Sharing insights throughout the company regarding the product (organizing demo’s, internal conferences, etc.)
DECISION MAKING
- Deciding what to build and what not
- Providing and teaching every available business process to the development team to connect them with the product and its customers to make informed decisions together
INVOLVEMENT
- Participating in defining a statement of work and take the lead in the documenting
- Participating in defining release meetings:
- Providing release goal and new user stories for release planning
- Reflecting and taking action as a team member in the release retrospective
- Informing, helping and learning in the daily stand-up
- Helping teams to continuously improve their process
LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT
- Exchanging best practices constantly with other Business Analysts in the organization (e.g. through a community of practice)
- Experimenting with the product
- Measuring progress (e.g. value delivered to clients in each release)
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
- Helping the team to create information radiators
- Delighting customers
- Tighten every feedback loop regarding the product (e.g. release often, release early, talk to customers, Minimal Lovable Product, etc.)
The Candidate
Education and Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree or equivalent educational background
- Valid work permit for EU
- Living in the Netherlands
- Fulltime available
- No 9-5 mentality, willing to work flexible hours
- Open minded and good sense of humor
Skills and Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role
- Strong documenting skills
- Deep understanding and experience of an Agile and SCRUM development environment
- Solid track record in the Telecommunications industry
- Thorough understanding of Software Development, BSS, OCS and Billing processes
- Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills
- Experience with creating solid user stories in Jira
- Team player
- Strong presentation skills
- Able to work in a fast-paced, self-directed, innovative environment
- Able to multi-task activities with continuously changing priorities
